Face-to-Face Art Classes for Adults – Oil, Acrylic & Watercolour
Immerse yourself in Julia’s in-studio and plein-air art classes across Romiley and Yorkshire, designed for adults eager to explore oil, acrylic or watercolour painting in person. Whether you are seeking studio tuition or hands-on outdoor workshops, Julia’s lively teaching brings creativity and confidence to in the group.
Studio Days (at Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire borders)
Held in small, supportive groups at:
- Romiley (venue to be confirmed) Weekly Tuesdays, term time: daytime sessions (10:00–12:30) for watercolour, available to book one (£27), three (£75) or 6 sessions (£135) Materials can be provided at additional £8 per session.
- Kirkheaton Library, near Huddersfield Weekly Fridays, term time: daytime sessions (10:00–15:00) for watercolour, available to book one (£53), three (£150) or 6 sessions (£270) and acrylic (£50), all materials provided. Materials can be provided at additional £12 per session.
- Beginners are welcome.
Plein-Air Painting Workshops
Experience the charm of landscape painting with Julia’s outdoor classes, held across picturesque Yorkshire and Cheshire locations – including: Mirfield Canal, Selby Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Hill Top near Romiley, Marple Canal, Bramhall and RHS Gardens. Plein-air painting classes offer a unique and enriching experience that goes far beyond the traditional studio setting.
- Session format: select watercolour or acrylic sessions (£45 / £57 with materials), 10:00–15:30, small mixed-ability groups.
- Connect with Nature: Painting outdoors immerses you in the natural world, helping you see and interpret your surroundings more vividly and authentically.
- Improve Observation Skills: You'll learn to capture light, colour, atmosphere, and movement in real time—skills that sharpen your artistic eye and elevate your work.

About Julia
Julia is a practicing fine art painter based in Romiley, also teaching in West Yorkshire. Trained in Russia and the UK, she has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her passion for expressive landscapes and townscapes shines through her teaching.
How to Book
- Browse class dates: Plein-air sessions are scheduled regularly from June to July 2025, with new courses in summer 2026. Studio sessions run from Sep – May.
- Choose your class: Select watercolour or acrylic, with or without materials.
- Reserve your spot: Private and small-group spaces are limited—early booking is recommended.
- Enjoy your session: Arrive at the location around 09:30 for setup; be ready for a creative day in studio or outdoors.
